SHOP PILOT DRILLS
Pilot drills are available in High Speed Steel and Carbide Tipped variations and in multiple lengths. When choosing a pilot drill, check for compatibility to ensure it fits your Starrett arbor. If you are using a Bi-Metal Hole Saw, choose a high speed steel Pilot Drill. If you are using a Carbide Tipped Hole Saw, select a Carbide Tipped or Solid Carbide Pilot Drill.
Also pay attention to the length of the pilot drill. The correct Pilot Drill length is critical. If you are using a deep cut hole saw, you must select a long pilot drill, or the pilot drill will be shorter than the cutting edge of the saw,
