The Starrett Blade Micrometer has thin precision ground blades on the anvil and non-rotating spindle tips allowing accurate measurement of features such as narrow ring grooves, slots and keyways. Custom blades, custom blade orientation, carbide, ratchet and larger measuring ranges are available thru our Special Order department.

486 Mechanical Blade Type Micrometers with Non-Rotating Spindle

Featuring a rigid steel frame ribbed for extra strength on sizes through 6" (150mm) and and an extremely hard and stable one-piece spindle (the heart of our accuracy), the 486 Blade Micrometers deliver accuracy, reliability and quick and easy adjustment. Their satin chrome finish eliminates glare and resists rust. An advanced sleeve design with staggered lines and distinct figures delivers precise and easy readability. Also features a speeder for quicker adjustment on all sizes.

786.1 Wireless Blade-Type Micrometer with Non-Rotating Spindle

Built on the same frame as the mechanical model 486, the electronic 786.1 blade micrometer is equipped with an RS232 output - ideal for use with DataSure Wireless Data Collection System. With a large, easy-to-read .275" (7mm) tall characters, high contrast LCD digital readout and built-in wireless options, the 786.1 is the premier blade micrometer on the market.
