MADE IN AMERICA

Starrett was founded in 1880 in Athol, Massachusetts, where the corporate headquarters and largest manufacturing plant still exists today.

Synonymous with American Made

In 1880, Laroy Sunderland Starrett invented and made the world’s first combination square in Athol, Massachusetts U.S.A. For over one hundred and forty years, thousands of employees and millions of precision tools, gages and saw blades later, The L.S. Starrett Company continues to manufacture tools not only at its Athol, MA headquarters, but also in facilities across the U.S.A. and around the world. Starrett today proudly carries on its skilled tradition of precision, quality and innovation throughout America.
